These Terms & Conditions apply to all purchases made through matchthehatch.co.uk and form a legally binding agreement between you (the customer) and us, Coalbrook Ltd trading as Match the Hatch.

2. Using Our Website

By placing an order on matchthehatch.co.uk, you confirm that:

  • You are legally capable of entering into a contract

  • You agree to these Terms & Conditions

  • All information you provide is accurate and complete

We may update these terms from time to time. Any changes will only apply to future orders.

3. Orders & Contract Formation

  • When you place an order, you are making an offer to buy

  • A contract is created only when we send you an order confirmation email

  • We may refuse or cancel any order if stock is unavailable, pricing errors occur, or fraud is suspected

4. Product Information & Accuracy

We do our best to ensure that all product descriptions and images are accurate. However:

  • Colours may vary slightly depending on your screen

  • Many of our flies are hand-tied, so small variations are normal

  • All measurements are subject to a reasonable 10% size difference but not the metal hook.

  • Product packaging may differ from website images

These variations do not affect product quality or performance.

5. Prices & Payment

  • All prices are shown at checkout and include VAT where applicable

  • Payment must be made in full before dispatch

  • We accept the secure payment methods shown on our website

  • If a pricing error occurs, we will contact you before processing the order

6. Delivery

Delivery costs and estimated times are displayed during checkout.

We aim to dispatch orders promptly, but:

  • Delays caused by couriers, weather, or events outside our control cannot always be avoided

Once your order is delivered, responsibility for the goods transfers to you.

7. International Orders

If you order from outside the UK:

  • You are responsible for any import duties, customs charges and local taxes

  • We cannot refund items refused by customs

  • We do not currently ship to the USA via matchthehatch.co.uk

8. Your Right to Cancel (Cooling-Off Period)

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have a legal right to cancel most online purchases within 14 days of receiving your goods.

Returned items must be:

  • Unused

  • In original condition

  • Returned within 14 days of cancellation

Return postage is the customer’s responsibility unless the item is faulty. In most cases we will accept images via email as proof of defectiveness or damage.

9. Faulty or Incorrect Items

If your item arrives faulty or incorrect:

  • Email us immediately at richardmarkswift@gmail.com

  • We will arrange a refund, repair, or replacement

  • We will cover return postage where a fault is confirmed, or we may ask you to dispose of the product(s)

Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 remain fully protected.

10. Refunds

  • Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method

  • Refunds are processed within 14 working days

  • Express delivery upgrades are not refundable – only standard delivery costs apply

11. Our Right to Cancel Orders

We may cancel an order if:

  • Payment cannot be verified

  • Stock becomes unavailable

  • Delivery cannot be completed

  • Fraud or abuse is suspected

If we cancel an order, any money paid will be refunded in full.

12. Liability

We are not liable for:

  • Business losses

  • Loss of profit or income

  • Loss of opportunity

  • Indirect or consequential losses

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for personal injury caused by negligence or fraud.

13. Privacy & Data Protection

Your personal information is handled securely and used only in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available on matchthehatch.co.uk.

14. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by UK law.

You may bring legal proceedings in:

  • England & Wales

  • Scotland (if resident)

  • Northern Ireland (if resident)
