How To Fish the Booby Humungus Olive Lure
Washing Line Booby Setup
Fish the Olive Humungus on the point with smaller nymphs or attractors fished on droppers above. The buoyant eyes help keep the fly just off the bottom, creating movement even during slower retrieves.
Steady Pull and Pause Retrieve
Allow the fly to sink before retrieving with slow pulls followed by brief pauses. Each pause lets the booby eyes lift the fly upward, imitating a small fish or moving prey.
Deep Water Lift Technique
In deeper areas, let the lure settle near the lake bed and then use gentle lifts of the rod tip to make it rise through the water column. The natural olive colour keeps it believable while still offering enough presence to draw interest.
